The Invitation

If you've received an invite, you've made the prestigious list.

This is a yearly kayak/camping/adventure/survival trip that has a rich history. Welcome to the Grind. Your confirmation to the trip will be in the form of Venmo'n $275 to Jimmy Allgood.

The trip is capped out at 35 people, so don't be one of those pain-in-the-ass's that's on the fence and then wants to go last minute but can't because they didn't pay up early on, because they didn't want to ask their wife or boyfriend if they could go play for a weekend.

After you pay, plan to meet at Dos Rios RV Park in Llano TX on Thursday, December 10th for the launching of our 18th Grind. The precise launch spot will be announced by November 1. We push off Thursday night and pull out Sunday afternoon at Robinson City Park in Llano TX (or, alternatively, your mom's house). Shuttles will be coordinated, and you will have a safe place to park your car — but please please please carpool so we can keep shuttle trips down. It's an hour drive round trip for shuttle drivers.

This year's theme is Hair Metal / Cock Rock. Spandex pants, leather vests, headbands, frosted tips, mesh tanks, and at least one Flying V are highly encouraged. Show up with a healthy body, a teased mane, a vessel (preferably one without holes), and a clean liver. This year will absolutely be the best one yet.

Primitive Survival Rating

A score. A reckoning. A wholly fabricated tradition.

Every paddler is rated on three pillars: P.S.R. (Primitive Survival), R.P.R. (Rapid Proficiency), and M.C.R. (Montiablo Capability). Composite scores are deliberated by the committee. Decisions are final and almost always unfair.
